The Indian film industry as a driver of new socio-economic connections between India and Europe
FilmInd is an international research project funded by EqUIP (EU-India Platform for Social Sciences and Humanities) which aims to support collaboration between Europe and India. The research consortium consists of University of Basel (Switzerland), Jawaharlal Nehru University (India), Novia University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland), Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Slovenia) and is coordinated by the University of Basel. The project lasts from January 2019 to December 2021.
Project in Brief
The Indian film industry is becoming more present in Europe by using many European locations as film-shooting destinations and also by increased popularity of Indian films among European audiences. The research project will observe the site of film production processes and the context of film reception among different audiences. more
